BCW Engineering and Management have made a courageous new investment in a soft metal machining resource.

Over 2.5 million UK Pounds has been invested in state of the art machine tools for the machining of aluminium and other non-ferrous materials.

BCW have vast experience and expertise in the machining of aluminium castings and Paul Biggs, Technical Director, said: "This will increase our capacity, enable us to achieve cost down and further develop our expertise".

On February 21st 2008, BCW Engineering were proud to welcome H.R.H. The Prince of Wales to open our 2nd production facility at the Lancashire Digital Technology Centre.
Prince Charles spent an hour looking round the facility, inspecting the various parts made by BCW and chatting to management and staff.

 

The Prince agreed to open the facility in recognition of the work done by BCW on Burnley’s social inclusion programme. This gives people from challenged backgrounds the chance of a regular job with real prospects for the future.

Burnley Business of the Year: BCW Engineering

The Best of Burnley Awards 2008 was organised by Burnley Action Partnership, and it was the first event of its kind to be held in the town to celebrate local champions for their contributions to Burnley.

The prize for Burnley Business of the Year went to BCW Engineering Ltd, which is already making expansion plans and celebrating new contracts and new premises opened by the Prince of Wales. Operations director Trevor Cassie said: “Commitment from the whole team, Machine operators to Directors is what make’s this possible”.

“The workforce push hard for it and help take BCW from strength to strength. They are the one who get it all done.”

BCW Invest in Automata 2.5 and New Biglia 565, working in conjunction with Whitehouse machine Tool & Kitigawa. The machinery now allows BCW to offer the customer a fully automated manufacturing solution from billet to compliment its bar fed automatic machining portfolio.

 

The Automata is the first of its kind in the UK and BCW where very pleased to be the first company to make the step change in this direction. The Automata allows between 10 to 14hrs continuous machine running.
